2 - JRT

So, Shari and I have wanted a pet for a very long time. We both love dogs. We've wanted a dog for a very long time but the problem is we don't agree on what kind of dog to get. There is a pet store at the mall near by and we went yesterday and looked at dogs.

Ever since we visited Shari's aunt Dee and played with her Jack Russell Terrier, Brooster, I fell in love with the breed. I think that I would love them. They are very energetic and crazy, but I think with as many people who are in and out of our house that wont be a problem. I also thought that Eddie (Frazier) was awesome!

What do you think?

Maybe I should have been a little clearer. Shari has not landed on a particular breed she likes, but she does have a little affection for the Yorkie.

To be frankly honest, besides the poodle, of course, my favorite dog is the JRT. My vote is definately on Joel's side on this one!

Let me reiterate. There are no sides. I just saw the dog at the pet store, and liked it a lot. Shari doesn't really have an opinion about dog breeds.

okay....a couple of things from people who have bought dogs in haste and repented in leisure:

Our next door neighbors on Staten Island, aka, the LIZZes, aka the two Lesbians named Liz, had a JRT, named Jack...as in in Jaqueline. It woke us up every morning at about 5:30 am with it's yapping. They had a 4 foot privacy fence, and I think Jack could jump it.

Secondly, Eddie on Frazier was a mix breed, mostly JRT, but before falling into the hands of trainers, the dog was going to be destroyed because it was so impossible to live with. I don't remember how I know this, but I watch a lot of tv.

I don't care what you get, but I think A would advise against a beagle pup, if you've read his blog lately : )

Actually, Purina used to have a great test on their website, where you put in your preferences for a dog...like shedding, size, amount of money to feed it, your activity level, etc. It comes up with a best breed for you. Our best breed...a pug. Course, we went ahead and ignored that and got not one but two Border Collies, a dachshund and a beagle mix since taking that test (only one of them stuck, though). I can't really say I'm sorry, either. Sid has definetly grown on me. She's a good buddy. Sara actually asked if she could take her when she moves out!

We got a black lab in April. She completed PUPPY Classes, and seemed pretty smart...learned tons of signs, etc.

I didn't want to LIKE her let alone LOVE her..but she became a great friend, companion..and I always got a laugh!!

But..She was stupid. Got killed last Thursday and my tears still aren't dry.
